Introduction to freediving
You can finish full Molchanovs Wave 1 depth course at once or in two parts – pool part Lap 1 and depth part Wave 1. Why is it convenient this way? Because you can choose how to complete the course!
By receiving Lap 1 certificate, you gain access to Molchanovs weekly training program for pool disciplines, WORKOUT and our club pool training, so to get to the depth parts, you only need to train freediving techniques that will teach you comfortable diving in the depth of up to 20m.

Prerequisites:
18 years of age (16 with a parent/guardian consent), completed medical examination form (or medical certificate), Release of Liability form, passing a 200m swim test
Preparation:
Course materials in Czech language! Full course manual for Molchanovs Wave / Lap 1 is officially translated to Slovak and is available for all registered students on their Molchanovs profile (Dashboard).

Online preparation:
Once you are registered, you can start preparing for the course. Read the online manual, watch all videos available for online course and test your knowledge via online quiz.

Theoretical certification:
We will go through full theory together either during the course or online.

Why choose online preparation?
You can get T1 certificate and access to dry Molchanovs Base Training even before starting the course.

Theory
Physics: Boyle’s law and Archimedes’ principle and their application in water
Physiology: oxygen and carbon dioxide, effects of breath-holding, short-term and long-term adaptations
Breathing and relaxation: basics of breathing and relaxation, body scan, hyperventilation
Equalization: anatomy, theory and concept, equalization technique training, tips for correct equalization
Diving techniques: effective use of fins, introduction of no-fins technique
Mental technique: visualization technique
Potential trauma: hypoxia related trauma, barotrauma
Safety and rescue: key safety measures, buddy system, rescue procedures
Base training: importance of training, introduction of Molchanovs Movement and weekly training cycle, Molchanovs benchmarks and reward badges

Pool part
Relaxation: application of breathing and mental techniques in water
STA: static breath-holding at the water’s surface, including correct buddying and rescue
DYNB: correct weighting, head and body position, effective kicking technique, turn, duck dive, buddying, rescue
DNF: introduction of no-fins technique, weighting, arm stroke, kick, synchronization
Base training: demonstration of Molchanovs technique training (training available after completing the course)

Depth part
Relaxation
: application of breathing and mental techniques in water
FIM: introduction of free immersion technique, body position, movement efficiency
CWTB: introduction of finning technique, correct weighting, line orientation, head and body position, effective kicking technique, duck dive, turn, buddying, rescue

Wave 1 certificate requirements:
Full course completion, passing the theory test, 30m safe and comfortable horizontal diving with fins, 1:30 min static breath hold, freediver rescue and safe group diving
FIM: comfortable and repetitive dives 12-20m
CWTB: comfortable and repetitive dives 12-20m
Buddying: 6-10m (safe group freediving)
Rescue: 6-10m

If you do not manage any part of the course, you can join our regular trainings or depth events, continue to work on yourself and complete the course in your pace. You have up to 1 year to complete the course.
